AUDITION NOTICE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The NonProphet Theater Company will be holding non-Equity auditions for their next production, an evening of two one-acts: David Mamet's A LIFE IN THE THEATER, and Howard Korder's LIP SERVICE. The director of both plays is NonProphet Theater Co. Associate Artistic Director B. Weller.
Auditions will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, and on Saturday, February 9, 2008 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
Auditions will be held at the Washington University West Campus Conference Center, located at 7425 Forsyth Blvd. In Clayton, MO.
Actors are asked to bring a current resume and head shot. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the two plays.
The production will be performed April 11 - 20, 2008 at the Ivory Theater in the Carondolet Neighborhood in South St. Louis. Rehearsals will begin in late February or early March.
Each play consists of two characters, and the actors who are cast will be performing in both plays.
Play & character breakdown:
A LIFE IN THE THEATER, by David Mamet - Two actors- one aging, the other just beginning- carry on a tenuous backstage friendship while performing a full season of repertory theater.
Robert - An older actor
John - A younger actor
LIP SERVICE, by Howard Korder - A veteran morning anchorman is assigned a new partner who's more interested in himself than the news.
Gilbert Hutchinson - A man in his 60s
Len Burdette - A man in his early 30s
The NonProphet Theater Company is a St. Louis-based professional theater company, and all positions include a stipend.
