Attention Stand-Up Comics, Comedy Writers, and Improvisers:
"The Vaudevillian", a new independent magazine, whose slant is that all contributions are submitted by comedians, is launching it's first issue this fall.
The zine, published by STOP printing of Portland, Oregon is looking for submissions
in the way of articles, stories, interviews, comics, and anything you can dream up, that you want to share with others in the comedy community, practitioners and fans.
We are also looking for audio submissions, as the printer, who runs a small,
in house indie record label, strongly desires to attach CD's to this and future issues.
These may take the form of show footage, songs, sketch, interviews, or anything funny you may submit to radio.
"The Vaudevillian" is intended as a quarterly, but will be published as submissions
and resources permit. Each quarter we hope to do a featured city, to the highlight
the strength and talents of the regional comedy movement.
NOTE: You do not have to reside in the featured city to be in an issue.
The featured city is just one portion of the entire issue, showcasing work from anywhere.
On the horizon are Portland, Cleveland, Tampa, Seattle, The Frisco Bay area,
and Chicago. If you are in a city you would like featured, please contact us.
WE ARE OPEN TO SUGGESTION.
This is very open ended. All submissions will be considered provided they are
authored by a comedian. NOTE: "The Vaudevillian" does not own or profit directly from submissions. We subsist purely on ad space, and are a small upstart enterprise.
Hence you may submit pieces that have appeared elsewhere, or recycle as you wish, the finished product is yours. Editing however, is at the discretion of the chief editor, who is committed to working directly with the authors as much as possible.
Distribution will be handled through STOP printing, who has a relationship with several independent bookstores, and distributers. The most powerful means of distribution though, are the free copies given to road comics, and touring companies to give away along their travels. This is an excellent means to spread your work. please, spread the word.........
Any submissions or questions can go to:
