Dear Theatre colleagues,
I am writing to invite
you to an intimate complimentary showing of our work in progress,
"Becoming Emily" about the life of Emily Lyons this Sunday
Mar 15 at 2 pm at Central Reform Congregation at 5020 Waterman in the CWE. The
doors will open at 1:30 for a free reception.
Emily is a nurse who was badly injured when the clinic
where she was working in Birmingham, Alabama was bombed in 1998 by Eric Rudolph. Rudolph went on to bomb another clinic, the Atlanta
Olympics and a gay bar and was wanted by the FBI in one of the longest and most
expensive manhunts in their history.
The piece we are doing asks questions about the
impact of violence and if the ends justify the means. It also looks at the elevation of criminals
to celebrity status.
I am excited about the project. We are working with a fascinating range
of performers and our choreographers include Sarah Anne Patz, Ashley
Tate and Keith Tyrone Williams among others. Our dancers include Raven Akram, Miranda
Donley, Katie Frisbie, Heidi Guenther, Julie Jones, Aparna Kalyanaraman, Cynthia
Keen, Katie Murphy, Sarah Anne Patz, Ashley Tate and Keith Williams.
Our
actors include Robin Alton, Anita Anton, Cara Barresi, Michelle Dodson, Rory
Flynn and Turhan Williams.
As
we go forward with this project, we will be looking for additional performers.

We will be having a big public
performance in June. The showing on Sunday Mar 15 is to check out where we are,
share a little, and get the buzz going and interest people in the piece’s
development and production.

bring someone, please RSVP by Friday 5 pm
to info@ProChoiceMisso uri.org You can also take a chance at the door but we
