Thursday nights at iO West aren't what you might expect. Sure, there's improv, but probably not how you're used to it. Which is always fun. The night starts this evening with True Story, comedic story telling based on a different theme each show. Tonight? Mistaken Identity, with Justine Barron, Breon Bliss, Tim Lopez, and Sarah McLean. Every Thursday night you can also see Joel Murray and Friends. That's right, Joel Murray from everything. No really, everything. Mad Men, Shameless, Two and a Half Men, almost any TV show that's been on in the last ten years. He's always got a rotating crew of friends that stop by to swap stories and improvise their hearts out. So the Joel Murray show is an hour long and it's right before Quartet. Quartet is comprised of Tami Sagher and Stephanie Weir, from Mad TV, Jean Villepique from Terriers, The Office, and Modern Family, and Bob Dassie and Craig Cackowski, two guys that have been playing together for almost 20 years. All three shows are an hour long and only $10 each. Tickets available at the door, but why wait? www.west.ioimprov.com

TOMORROW night- catch JOEL MURRAY and Friends at iO West at 9pm for only $10. And the site describes it best, anyone who loves improv will understand- "What if you had an Armando and the Armando was Freddy Rumsen from Mad Men? On top of that, what if the people backing him up were other people you know from TV and film? Murray gets up with friends from his “storied” career. They are working actors and writers that studied with Del Close and apparently listened when they were in class. The stories are heartfelt and the improv is first-class. Starring: Jerry Lambert, Kevin Dorf, Jay Leget, Mitch Rouse and Laura Kraft" www.ticketweb.com/snl/VenueListings.action?venueId=25316
