Tonight at iO West, there's of course a heaping load of improv on the menu. But just like you diet, you should try something new every so often.
My we offer, the Friday Night Feast.
Starting at 8pm, there's Spirit Fingers and 4 Square. Spirit Fingers is quality three person improv and tonight, they're ending an era- one of the members is moving to Philly. So support Maggy Keegan in her last Spirited romp and enjoy fast paced, emotionally charge, excited farewell-prov. Sharing the hour with them is 4 Square, a team known for their transformational edits! There's so much to be learned from Rob Janas and Peter Grosz and not a sweep edit to been seen.
In the 9o'clock hour we have two team with very different backgrounds. Old Milwaukee has been playing together since... they all lived in Milwaukee. So come check out old friends Dave Theune, Kurt Scholler, Eric Price, Tom Clark, Brian Allman, and Peter Alberts try their best to crack eachother up. On the flip side, there's Orpheus Roy, an 8 person team with backgrounds from all over- UCB, Second City, iO, Groundlings- comprised of Mike McLendon, Peter Fluet, James Mastraieni, Marshall Givens, Betsy Sodaro, Brandon J. Sornberger, Jim Woods, and Michael Anastasia.
Then at 10pm is Opening Night, and there's really nothing like it. It's a totally improvised musical created by a team that is turning 13 this year. I dare you to think of any reason not to see this well oiled machine perform.
